Supporting our students, school, and community.
About us
The Caravonica State School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a group of dedicated parents, citizens, and school staff who work closely with the school administration to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.
We provide essential services to the school community and run fundraising events throughout the year to fund new resources, equipment, and improved facilities for the school. We operate as a non-profit under the P&C Model Constitution as updated by the QLD Government.
Note: We are currently setting up our new P&C Association committee IT tools and our new Country Fair tools. More information will be added to this site during 2026.
Achievements in 2025
Nature playground: We were thrilled to see the completion of the new nature playground, part-funded by the P&C’s contributions.
Technology boost: A suite of laptops was purchased for a computing room, providing students with access to vital resources for their learning.
Arts night success: We supported the hugely successful arts night by contributing resources to showcase our students’ creativity.
New initiatives at Outside School Hours Care: Our OSHC team introduced new programs, including excursions, incursions, and a positive behaviour program, which were well-received by students and families.
Fundraising success: Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, we raised vital funds through a variety of activities, including the ever-popular Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, sports day bling, and food and drink sales at the arts night and end-of-year concert. These efforts directly benefit our school and students.
Advocacy efforts: We facilitated a productive Road SafeST meeting with the school, Cairns Regional Council, and the Department of Transport and Main Roads to address traffic and safety concerns.
Community support: We worked with our local MP, Bree James, to discuss much-needed improvements to our school and OSHC facilities.
Projects in 2026
Seniors’ playground: We’re raising funds to create a special area for our senior students. This will be a fantastic addition to our school and a great way to support our older students.
OSHC: We have just made one of largest ever investments in funding an upgrade to the undercover area.
Sports Shirts: We are now providing sports representative shirts for students participating in events like cross country, soccer, and netball.
Country Fair 2026: Mark your calendars for Saturday, 15 August 2026! Our bi-annual Country Fair is in the planning stage and our Fair26 team needs plenty of help.
